BIOMAYA

BioMaya is Costa Maya's main attraction. Woven into the fabric of the Central American rainforest, BioMaya provides a unique combination of adventure, culture, and eco-tourism.

Ready for adventure? The newly renovated port of Mahahual welcomes cruise ship passengers to the Caribbean's premier ziplining facility. From the moment you disembark, you'll quickly understand why Costa Maya has become a port stop not to be missed.

BioMaya is Costa Maya's main attraction. Woven into the fabric of the Central American rainforest, BioMaya provides a unique combination of adventure, culture, and eco-tourism, with its state-of-the-art ziplining complex serving as the shining jewel.

In the world of ziplining, BioMaya has set a new standard. The site of the facility is spectacular, offering visitors a birds-eye view of the lush vegetation of the Yucatan rainforest and the turquoise blue waters of the Bacalar Lagoon.

Equally important, BioMaya incorporates the latest innovations in technology and safety. BioMaya's zipline (or zip line) course is built around four platforms connecting three lengthy courses. Your final glide above the rainforest canopy spans more than 2,600 feet and opens to a breathtaking view of Bacalar (also known as the Lagoon of the Seven Colors). Don't be surprised if you're joined in flight by colorful macaws flapping their wings alongside you.

BioMaya is currently the only facility that offers participants the option of parallel ziplining that can accommodate up to four people. Regardless of how you fly, you can rest assured that the highest standards of safety and security have been part of the BioMaya vision from the outset. A unique double cable system means that you'll be suspended by two cables as you zipline. The two cables not only provide extra safety, but also ensure a smoother, more stable ride.

As its name suggests, BioMaya is much more than ziplining. The area around the complex boasts the greatest biodiversity in all of Mexico. Our guides will not only provide you with instructions and insight about the thrill of ziplining, but they'll also introduce you to Costa Maya's ecology and ancient Mayan culture. By the time you're in the air, you'll be looking down on the rainforest canopy and the Mayan heartland with a new perspective
