"Fun in Xel-Ha"

First let me say that I think Xel-Ha is an absolute must if you visit Tulum! Xel-ha was amazing; we did the all inclusive deal. First, we wanted to snorkel. But before we did, we locked up our belongings in a locker. They asked us for a small deposit. You can actually leave a room key, or we just gave them a few dollars and they were happy. Also, make sure you buy the biodegradable sunscreen in the park. We got it at one of the gift shops, but they also had it at a small stand along the way. When we snorkled, there were lots of fish, if you look in all the right places. We saw some bridges so we swam over to them and each time we did we went under it and found so many different kinds of fish like parrotfish and what I think were blue tangs. There is fish food on most of the bridges, so if you have friends or family watching from a bridge, get them to toss it in and watch all of the fish go crazy! Next on the agenda was tubing down the lazy river! We saw an incredible amount of beautiful scenery as we went down the river. The water was extremely calm and relaxing. I had a hard time getting in my tube at first, but after I got in it was a breeze. We also saw a lot of beautiful big fish and colorful birds during the ride too. Next we took a walk down the trails to explore! We saw a lot more exotic, native birds and iguanas hanging around! Along the way we came across cenotes, some cool caves, and then a floating bridge. There were also places to stop and rest, so we took our time and enjoyed the day! We didn’t do the swim with the dolphins, but I want to next time. The food was pretty good and we had a lot of choices. They were all in one central area so we went for the BBQ. It was pretty good! Another stand also had fried foods and Mexican, soft ice cream, beer and soft drinks. There was also a bar with drinks only, no food that kind of looked like a typical beach bar. They also had an international type of food place too. Overall, this was the best excursion we have ever experienced on a vacation! If you go to Tulum, you won’t be sorry if you visit this park!
