"A step back in time"

I have always been interested in the Mayan culture and going on a trip to Mexico to see the ruins for myself was unbeleivable. A tram takes you to the entrance gate passing lizards and plant life along the way. Once you go through the tunnel and see the ruins it is like going back in time thousands of years! The buildings are amazing, built with precision, using the Mayan calendar and astrological guide along with the tilt of the axis of the Earth! Absolutely incredible! As you stroll through and admire the temples, you come across a burial area that is incredibly peaceful and eerily serene. Once you go up in back of the largest of the three temples, you will be amazed at the beauty of a beach area that is perfect paradise! You climb the steps down to that area and cool off with a swim in the warm salty water and take in the beauty of this coastline. Visiting Tulum is one of my most treasured memories!
