"Azulik is BEAUTIFUL!"

When we were deciding on coming into Tulum, we looked into beachfront resorts and the resorts closer to the main road in Tulum. While we ended up staying closer to the main road (about 2km to beach) we ventured down to the beach almost every day while on Vacation. We remembered seeing pictures of Azulik online before we came down so we figured we would stop in and check the place out while at the beach. We were greeted by Francisco who offered us some availability in a beautiful beach front cabana. Even though we were booked at another hotel, he took us on a tour of the cabanas and showed us what the resort has to offer. The resort is different from a typical beachfront resort because it is an eco-resort. The cabanas have no electricity but don’t let that scare you. The rooms are all hardwood, very beautiful with the most amazing views of the beach. The cabanas we checked out had huge balconies with a wooden swing and a large outdoor bed. The best part of the balconies is the private tiled Jacuzzi styled tubs on each deck, perfect for a bath before dinner. Inside the cabanas there were large beds with mosquito netting, private bathrooms and beautiful handmade tubs. We actually ended up hanging on the beach outside the cabanas and met a bunch of people staying there that all loved the peace and quiet. Having no electricity didn’t bother the folks we met, the resort has an area with electricity for charging phones and wifi for getting that work you need to get done while on vacation. Azulik is part of 3 resorts total from what I understand and it is in between its sister resorts Cabanas Copal and Zhara. Sitting on the beach in front of Azulik, we had lunch on the beach a few times through the snack bar that serves both Azulik and Cabanas Copal. The beers were cold, pina coladas fresh and the guacamole was awesome for a mid day snack. Polo the bartended took extremely great care of us and really made us feel at home. The views are amazing, staff is friendly and it’s a very eco-friendly resort. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a unique lodging experience with just the right amount of service and amenities!
